This thesis deals with the analysis of the brewing industry with regard to minibreweries and the development of the brewing industry since 2015 in the South Bohemia region. The literary research is focuses mainly on the basic terms connected with brewery, the history of beer brewing, the division of beers and breweries and the methods of brewing beer. The work describes the main differences between large breweries and minibreweries and their advantages and disadvantages. The analytical part is devoted to selected breweries and minibreweries in the South Bohemia region, which is characterized in the work. Furthermore, selected breweries and their history, current state methods of brewing beer and their products are described. An essential part of the work are graphs, tables and pictures, which provide better clarity and presentation of data in the field of research.

This thesis deals with the development of microbreweries in the Czech Republic from 2015 to 2018. First, the history of the brewing industry is described, both in the world and in the Czech Republic. Then the part is devoted to brewing and the necessary raw materials for beer production. There are also introduced breweries from home brewing, microbreweries, flying breweries to industrial breweries. The practical part shows the current numbers of microbreweries in the Czech Republic, but also increases in individual years. Part is devoted to the development of microbreweries in the regions, followed by a section dedicated to the brewery brewhouse, then to annual exhibitions and in the last row the share of microbreweries in the total exhibition is published. The work is accompanied by tables and graphs for better clarity.
Analysis of concentration, ownership structure and integration tendencies of breweries in Czechia

Over the last ten years the phenomenon of opening new microbreweries has reached Czechia. Since 2008 more than 350 new microbreweries have been opened and the map of breweries has recorded significant changes. Regarding these facts the main goals of this thesis were to analyze the brewing industry in Czechia in the context of ownership structure, concentration tendencies and mergers and acquisitions activity. First part focuses on the characteristics of the breweries' geographical layout related to the ownership structure and size based on annual beer production and in context of selected socioeconomic indicators. Following this part is an analysis of decomposition with use of concentration and cluster ratios. This part aims on cluster forming tendencies of brewing companies. The analytical part is completed with mergers and acquisitions characteristics in this industry sector. The basic figures and signs of the geographical decompositions were identified based on selected analytical methods and complex maps. Several concentration zones where breweries tend to cluster were labeled using the cluster analysis. Mergers and acquisitions reveal the difference in integration activity according to the brewery size. Key words: brewing industry, breweries, ownership structure, concentration, cluster, Czechia
Globalisation of the beer industry

The diploma thesis is focusing on the analysis of the globalisation trends in the world beer industry and a prediction of their future development. Therefore, the first part of the thesis is describing the current situation in the global beer industry including a global production, consumption, export and import of beer. The role of the Czech Republic in the global beer industry is analyzed in the second part of the paper. It includes an analysis of current trends in production and consumer demand. Third part of the thesis is analyzing the biggest player in the global beer industry - company called AB InBev. The focus is put especially on the company's strategy concerning the internationalization and the choice of the foreign markets to enter. The final part of the thesis offers a prediction of the future trends and regions with high potential of growth within the beer industry.
Company Bohemia Hop, a.s. – marketing strategy and export activities focused on China

This bachelor's thesis deals with the company Bohemia Hop a.s., a trading company that sells the Žatec hop of the highest quality and has managed to become a successful player in the world hop market. This company is represented in many world markets, but I decided to devote this thesis to the finese market, because the Chinese market is a very perspective and is constantly growing. The aim of this thesis is to introduce the company Bohemia Hop, analyse the current hop market and compare the marketing strategies of this company in the Chinese and Czech markets. The first chapter introduces the company, including its history,the markets the company is represented in and the products it trades. The second chapter analyses the current hop market in China and the Czech Republic and focuses on Bohemia Hop's customers in both markets. The third chapter is about the company's marketing strategy in the Chinese and Czech markets. SWOT analysis is included in the fourth chapter. The final part of the thesis covers possible recommendations for the Bohemia Hop Company.
The Czech brewery in the time of the Great Depression

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyze the effect of the Great Depression in 1929-1936 on the development of traditional Czech branches of industry, illustrated on the example of brewery branch. As for the introduction, I outline a development in the Czechoslovakia after the First World War. I focus on the general characteristics of brewery industry, its role in the Czechoslovak economy and its development trends dated till 1929. I follow to study the Great Depression leaking into the analyzed branch. I try to analyze the economic and social impacts of the crisis that influenced the Czech brewery. Above all I deal with the questions how the crisis influenced the production, consumption and the prices of brewing products, followed by structure of the branch. The thesis should answer the question what the strategy of the brew-houses in the period of economic crisis was and to what degree state interferences and anti-crisis measures influenced them.
Developement of privatization proces of brewing industry in the Czech Republic

Brewing industry is an important and traditional part of food and beverage industry and beer is one of the most famous production articles and export commodities. The theoretical and methodological part generally introduces changes in the national economy after the year of 1989 and defines necessary concepts and definitions. Afterwards the process of transformation is described from theoretical point of view. The analytical part presents the structure of the capacity of production in brewing industry before the initiation of the process of privatization and further investigates this process in this field. Then my thesis analyzes the structure of the capacity of production from the end of privatization process until now. Special attention is paid to the process of privatization of companies Plzeňský Prazdroj, a.s, Pivovary Staropramen, a.s, Pivovar Svijany, a.s a Budějovický Budvar, n.p. Finally the development in market share of these breweries on the Czech beer market is compared during the entire period. The aim of the is work an analysis of the privatization process of brewing in the Czech Republic on the example of selected breweries, including the structure of their capacities of production and market share in the reference period.
